A third generation native of Rochester, Jeff Amundson developed a passion for classical music after attending a Rochester Symphony Orchestra concert at the age of 10. He’s been an avid admirer ever since. Jeff is a graduate of Rochester Lourdes High School '88 and he did both his graduate and undergraduate studies at St Mary's University of Minnesota in Winona, MN where he double majored in Public Administration and Criminal Justice, and received his Master of Arts in Philanthropy & Development. Jeff’s business management experience ranges from running small start up companies to mid size corporations including a $5 million transportation company. Jeff is the former Development Director of a local museum raising revenues through comprehensive fund development strategies and best practices. Jeff serves as Adjunct Faculty at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota teaching in their Master of Business Administration and Master of Education Leadership programs. He is a member of two professional organizations, the League of American Orchestras, where he is a graduate of the League's Essentials of Orchestra Management program Class of 2012, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals International. Jeff has served on the board of directors of several area nonprofit organizations. He currently serves on the board of directors the Minnesota Theatre Company, where he is a founding member and past Chair of the Board, and the Southern MN Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Jeff serves on the City of Rochester's Charter Commission and is an active member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge #1091 in Rochester. Through his experience and education, Jeff is working to develop the Rochester Symphony Orchestra & Chorale into an artistically vibrant cultural arts institution that serves relevant community needs.
