Music Education
A gift for future generations of music lovers.

A key part of the mission of the Rochester Symphony is to provide music education programs for young people in our community and region. Our musicians reach out to young people and share their love of music and musical performance in order to plant a seed that may motivate the student to learn to play an instrument, or at least become an audience member for symphony concerts in the future. We also work with the Southeastern Minnesota Youth Orchestra (SEMYO) in a variety of ways to help develop their talent and provide them with unique opportunities to perform with a professional orchestra.

Listed below are some of the Symphony’s most prominent music education programs directed at youth in Rochester and the surrounding area. Each has an annual budget of more than $10,000.
